About Lauren

CCC, TITC-CT

"I acknowledge that the path to healing can be, at the best of times, uncomfortable and commend your courage in taking the first step. Through the evolution of my own personal struggles into a mental health practitioner, I came to recognize that all emotions need to be moved. By getting to know our inner conflict through the willingness and permission to let it bubble to the surface, the emotions that once hindered us may become the same emotions that set us free."

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Lauren was involved in ballet, synchronize swimming, and eventually triathlon. It was from this place that she realized that movement was essential to building strong relationships within and without and, in turn, living a wholesome and purposeful life.

Since 2012, Lauren has been studying the medicinal art of yoga and movement as a means of healing mental, emotional, and physical dis-ease with a sincere intention of building community around traumatic experiences. Aside from her love for teaching and serving through yoga, this path was a stepping stone into other healing therapies such as Reiki, Yoga Nidra, Critical Alignment Therapy (CAT), Dance Movement Therapy (DMT), and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP).

Movement, yoga, and Lauren’s body-centred trauma-informed offering, Liberate: A Method to Somatic Freedom, have all been built on the notion that our freedom lies within the wisdom of our struggles and pain.

I love to create, teach,

listen

and learn.

Movement of the physical body and mind are my passions, and I have found that through the combined experience of motion, attention, and sincerity,

we can move mountains within our mind

and calm storms within our soul.

This is the practice that I am so grateful to be able to live

and share.”
